Dear Writer,

Happy Yuletide! I love all these fandoms very much and I'm super excited to see what you come up with!

This letter and my optional details are, indeed, 100% optional indeed and are only meant to serve as possible inspiration if you're looking for it. Aside of DNWs, feel free to disregard everything if you've already got an idea!

GENERAL LIKES:

on the more light-hearted side of things, i love banter and silly antics and domesticity and i love all the usual cliché tropes (mutual pining, mistaken to be dating, fake relationship, accidental relationship, accidental marriage, arranged marriage, marriage of convenience, soulbonding, bed-sharing, temporary amnesia, mistaken identity shenanigans, etc.)

on the more serious side of things: loyalty kink!!, king and lionheart dynamics!, people on a mission, morally gray characters, amoral characters, righteous characters, where do you put the line and what do you believe in and what are you willing to compromise on and what are you wiling to sacrifice, just the different ways people relate to right and wrong and guilt and responsibility and all that jazz; time travel shenanigans; unhealthy dynamics as long as they're recognized as such by the text if not by the characters; characters who aren't quite there yet—there being a healthy dynamic or being good or happiness—but want to work together or push each other towards it

GENERAL DISLIKES:

unhappy or generally depressing endings, character bashing, rape/non-con, (permanent) major character deaths, unrequited love, cheating*, outright PWPs, nominated characters being romantically or sexually involved with people outside of the ships requested

BEYOND EVIL; han juwon, lee dongsik

Watched it twice in two months, and it's a struggle everyday not to rewatch it again, so as you can imagine I feel totally normal about this show.

they literally rewrote my brain chemistry, i am forever changed as a person, etc. etc.

cat-and-mouse psychosexual games with your murder suspect? mutual annoyances to partners? breaking and entering as a love language? kneeling at someone's feet in the rain and vowing to follow them into hell? emotionally fraught hand-holding? they really do have it all.

i cannot rhapsodize about all the reasons i love them without spoiling the hell out of any innocent passer-by but the OBSESSION and the MANIPULATION and the TRUST and the GUILT and the HURT/COMFORT. i want to unpeel their psyche. i would read anything about them at any stage in canon/post-canon. working together, working against each other, the break-up, the busan trip(s). they can kiss, they can punch, they can hug, they can arrest each other--i'll be happy to read about them in any shape or form!

My favorite noona romance!! Haha, I'm kidding... unless?

I just fell madly in love with their dynamic right from their first scenes together. She tries to have him killed but he escapes and goes to warn her off but she's laid a trap for him but he's prepared for it and takes her hostage to escape but then someone tries to kill her and he protects her and carries her out of a burning car??? The umbrella??? The way they grapple with each other, try to outsmart each other even once they agree to work together, the way they try to protect each other but are ultimately unwilling to compromise?

I do ship the hell out of it but I'd be perfectly happy to read about them trying and failing to outsmart / kill each other, or you can wrap up a moral conflict in a bow and let them have fun with it, whatever you like!

i do not need them to kiss. i need them to know they have found their perfect match/greatest enemy in each other. i need them to know beyond doubt there can never be any common ground between his unwavering integrity and her need for power and control, and i need them to try to find it anyway. This drama. This drama!!

this show and these characters and this relationship ruined me as a person. we see these two people who are so incredibly sad brought together by circumstances and helping each other through the most difficult moments of their lives, and then letting each other go, and it fucked me up.

i also do not need them to kiss. i need them to sit quietly in the same place and draw strength from each other. i need them to recognize themselves in each other. i need them to choose to be kind to each other. (they can also kiss)

i’d love just anything featuring the two of them. post-canon reunion? missing scene? canon with magical realism? a quiet moment in the neighborhood? i /would/ read an entire fic of park dong hoon walking somewhere in silence while she listens to him breathe.

MYSTERIOUS LOTUS CASEBOOK; di feisheng, fang duobing, li lianhua | li xiangyi

Li Lianhua sat down at his dead master's grave and wistfully talked about how nice it would be to be buried next to him and his dead shixiong, and I haven't really recovered from that, emotionally.

Also, (and although the original novel isn't actually danmei) I feel there's this trick to bypass Chinese censorship where show writers are like, "These two aren't gay because then it would also be gay with this third character" (The Narrator: It was, in fact, gay with the third character), and it's been great. Censorship, bad; OT3s, great.

the clown4clown4clown of it all! the identity porn! the devotion!! every side of this triangle has such a flavor. di feisheng and li xiangyi and their bitter exes vibes! their broke-his-qin-because-no-one-else-could-ever-understand-his-music vibes! the multitudes contained by fang duobing and li lianhua/li xiangyi! the mutual-annoyances-to-boyfriend-sharers/lovers progression of di feisheng and fang duobing!

i love them as an OT3 but i'm also down with gen if that's more your speed. i wouldn't say no to a beach reunion fic but there are so many possible canon or post-canon settings, tbh. the hit-it-and-quit-it era! the amnesic a-fei era! the break-up era(s)! the domestic roommates--wait, that's the whole show.

I keep up with the manhua and I'm caught up to the English TL (around chapter 50) so if you've finished the novel one way or the other, I'd appreciate it if you could avoid specific spoilers?

the ultimate exes to lovers. each and every one of their scenes feels like balancing your heart on the edge of a very, very sharp knife. they loved each other so much, and they tried so hard to hold onto each other, and they couldn’t anymore but they still love each other /so goddamn much/.

i'd love to read just about any stage of their relationship, when they’re kids, when they’re living together in england pre-relationship, their early days as a couple, during their break-up, after their break-up, anytime, anyplace.

WEAK CLASS HERO ONE; ahn suho, yeon sieun

me during the first few episodes: some people should be allowed to just snap
canon: you got it

boy who needs a nap like no one i've ever seen in my life and boy who naps a lot make friends/fall in love and beat up bullies: the series. sometimes it lasts in friendship and sometimes it [incoherent sobbing]: the series. grown-ups are evil: the series.
i can't really say anything more about this show or these profundly beloved characters without spoiling anything and/or running off crying, so don't take this lack of verbiage as a lack of love but as a surplus of it!
sieun just wanted to be left alone and suho didn't want to get involved, but they became each other's person so fast? 'maybe we were a married couple in a past life'?? suho showed him so much care, and sieun didn't know how to react and was slowly learning to, and they wanted so badly to protect each other, and i'm not okay about it? i cannot possibly express how much i NEED some hurt/comfort, hold the hurt. happy missing scene? post-canon fix-it? canon divergence fix-it?

THE SCUM VILLAIN'S SELF-SAVING SYSTEM; luo binghe/shen yuan | shen qingqiu

i love these dummies. i love how much they want to take care of each other, and how badly they fail at it on occasion. i love the unreliable narrator-ness of it all, how luo binghe wants to be in a romance novel and shen yuan is convinced he's in a revenge thriller. how much they struggle to see and understand each other, how luo binghe can't quite make sense of shen qingqiu's behavior without knowledge of the system and transmigration, how shen yuan is blinded by his knowledge of the original novel as well as by his own guilt--and i love how much they know and love each other despite all this. i love how much their world revolve around each other. i love that fearsome demon overlord luo binghe's greatest aspiration in life is to be his shizun's housewife. i love that the only thing in the world stronger than shen yuan's powers of denial is his absolute weakness to luo binghe being even slightly unhappy. i absolutely adore that not only did luo binghe take his shishu's "be pathetic" advice and ran with it, but that the most nonsensical piece of love advice to be ever uttered actually does work on shen yuan perfectly. i love these dummies!!

things i'd love to see: canon divergence, unreliable narrator(s), mutual obsession

→ anything about demon culture and/or luo binghe's unique position as the child of a demon and a cultivator who was raised without knowing a single thing about his demon heritage

THE SLEUTH OF THE MING DYNASTY; sui zhou/tang fan/wang zhi

i looooove these three. i love how wang zhi lives in a court intrigue palace drama, while tang fan's in a cooking show with a side of murder mystery and sui zhou's in a post-war psychological show slash romcom.
and i love every side of this triangle. i love how tang fan and sui zhou move in together and adopt a daughter and a goat within like, five minutes of their acquaintance. i love how tang fan and wang zhi understand each other and work so well off each other. i love sui zhou and wang zhi's relationship, how they sometimes grapple with their conflicting loyalties and codes of honor but still grow to have this quiet understanding and trust between them.
every instance of tang fan being in danger was A+++
sui zhou: we should immediately do everything in our power to rescue him!
wang zhi: i'm definitely not going to do anything to jeopardize the current socio-political situation.... but i'm going to look away five minutes while you do your thing and/or actually help you if you make it impossible for me not to, i guess

things i'd love to see: loyalty kink!!, shenanigans, conflicting moralities, found families
or potential tropes: fake relationship/undercover as a situationship, cohabitation, temporary amnesia
or potential prompts:
→ the one where nothing bad happens and there are found family feelings and sui zhou cooks, probably

→ the one where wang zhi needs help on a lot of cases post-canon and maybe he's just Lonely, Actually?
→ the one where the emperor and imperial consort wan can tell from wang zhi's perfectly neutral letters that he's Wretchedly Lonely, Actually and decide to scheme/matchmake
→ the one where dong'er parent-traps

TIAN GUAN CI FU; quan yizhen/yin yu

i absolutely loved these two and their dynamic. i don't think i can speak coherently about yin yu's last scene. i just went to reread it while writing this and i'm just as overwhelmed as before. so he's petty and jealous, so what? so he resents and hates yizhen, so what? he wanted to be kind if he couldn't be powerful but he couldn't be that either. god!! i just, have a lot of emotions.

i'd just love anything exploring their relationship, yin yu's pride and resentment and quan yizhen's absolute worship of him, how despite everything yin yu liked him, when they were just two disciples of the same sect, liked taking care of him, liked that quan yizhen only cared for him, up until his inferioriy complex soured even that. (how despite everything, yin yu died for him)

i'd be happy with any canon or canon divergent setting, be it back before yin yu fell, or while he was running away from quan yizhen (feel free to lean into the comical aspect of it if you want), or some post-canon fix-it. maybe they get magically stuck or stranded together at some point and are forced to deal with each other. maybe their relationship wasn't quite entirely platonic during or pre-canon. maybe uh, fixing the post-canon situation involves some marriage ritual or dual cultivation, i'm ready to blame airplane-bro for it if you are.

most of all I just want them to be happy, or to be consciously working towards happiness.

things i'd love to see: FIX-ITS, unreliable narrator(s), yin yu learning to be happy

one of my oldest ships! if you're still into this show in 2023 you're probably also into them, but i am perfectly happy to read about their platonic obsession to defeat each other if it's not your thing! and i am also very happy getting into the thorny issues of stepsiblings falling in love. and also very happy to side-step the issues and bask in a love story complicated only by their terrible personalities. so go where your heart leads you!

i loved how on paper they're polar opposites--he's the popular slacker who doesn't care about anything! she's the nerdy rule-follower who cares about everything!--but their core is the same: the eldest child of a ditzy single-parent household who must have Absolute and Undisputed Control of their Life, the House and also their Friend Group at All Times.

i loved every ridiculous conflict and shenanigans they had, i loved their family trying to navigate their all-out war, i loved every time they banded together against another enemy.

i looooove these three. i love how wang zhi lives in a court intrigue palace drama, while tang fan's in a cooking show with a side of murder mystery and sui zhou's in a post-war psychological show slash romcom.
and i love every side of this triangle. i love how tang fan and sui zhou move in together and adopt a daughter and a goat within like, five minutes of their acquaintance. i love how tang fan and wang zhi understand each other and work so well off each other. i love sui zhou and wang zhi's relationship, how they sometimes grapple with their conflicting loyalties and codes of honor but still grow to have this quiet understanding and trust between them.

i really enjoy terrible people who are obsessed with each other as a ship dynamic, i-hate-you-but-i-can't-live-without-you. while the obsession is mostly on bingge's side in canon, shen jiu's own brand of devotion is pretty extreme, and he feels like someone who very badly wants to be needed, which can pave the way for such an interesting dynamic between them, imo. canon takes it..... pretty...... far, so i'd be very happy with some canon divergence here, if only because lugging around a torso just seems awkward (things you'd never thought you'd write.....).

it's just too upsetting if bingge doesn't get a happy ending!! i can't really bear to break up bingqiu, so i'd love to see bingge find a shen yuan who never transmigrated, or who transmigrated directly further into PIDW. this ship just has everything i love about bingqiu but even more extreme: a distrustful, amoral demon lord whose trauma and abandonment issues have left him with the impossible need to have someone utterly and absolutely devoted to him, and the one (1) person in any world who'd be like, yeah, okay! and who might even give bonus points if bingge just atticwifes him as long as he doesn't have to admit he's into any of it.
basically, if i had to meme about it

TIAN GUAN CI FU; quan yizhen/yin yu

i'm just gonna use my yuletide letter.... from way back, just know i am as wildly in love with this ship as i was when i wrote it, if not more:

I absolutely loved these two and their dynamic. I don't think I can speak coherently about Yin Yu's last scene. I just went to reread it while writing this and I'm just as overwhelmed as before. So he's petty and jealous, so what? So he resents and hates Yizhen, so what? He wanted to be kind if he couldn't be powerful but he couldn't be that either. God!! I just, have a lot of emotions.

I'd just love anything exploring their relationship, Yin Yu's pride and resentment and Quan Yizhen's absolute worship of him, how despite everything Yin Yu liked him, when they were just two disciples of the same sect, liked taking care of him, liked that Quan Yizhen only cared for him, up until his inferioriy complex soured even that. It doesn't need to be romantic if you're not into that, but if you are, yes please.

I'd be happy with any canon or canon divergent setting, be it back before Yin Yu fell, or while he was running away from Quan Yizhen (feel free to lean into the comical aspect of it if you want), or some post-canon fix-it. Maybe they get magically stuck or stranded together at some point and are forced to deal with each other. Maybe their relationship wasn't quite entirely platonic during or pre-canon. Maybe uh, fixing the post-canon situation involves some marriage ritual or dual cultivation, I'm ready to blame Airplane-bro for it if you are.

Most of all I just want them to be happy, or to be consciously working towards happiness.

I absolutely loved these two and their dynamic. I don't think I can speak coherently about Yin Yu's last scene. I just went to reread it while writing this and I'm just as overwhelmed as before. So he's petty and jealous, so what? So he resents and hates Yizhen, so what? He wanted to be kind if he couldn't be powerful but he couldn't be that either. God!! I just, have a lot of emotions.

I'd just love anything exploring their relationship, Yin Yu's pride and resentment and Quan Yizhen's absolute worship of him, how despite everything Yin Yu liked him, when they were just two disciples of the same sect, liked taking care of him, liked that Quan Yizhen only cared for him, up until his inferioriy complex soured even that. It doesn't need to be romantic if you're not into that, but if you are, yes please.

I'd be happy with any canon or canon divergent setting, be it back before Yin Yu fell, or while he was running away from Quan Yizhen (feel free to lean into the comical aspect of it if you want), or some post-canon fix-it. Maybe they get magically stuck or stranded together at some point and are forced to deal with each other. Maybe their relationship wasn't quite entirely platonic during or pre-canon. The love and trust and respect between them is my happy place, and if you want to go romantic with this, yes, absolutely, but there's no need to if you enjoy the platonic aspect of their relationship, I'd just like anything focusing on them, though if you want to feature the absolute nonsense that is their found/grudgingly extended family, I'd welcome it as well.

There's just, he's just so completely devoted to her and she has so much faith and relies so completely on him in return that I don't know how to deal with myself. (QUEEN AND LIONHEART, but she's also her own damn knight.) The love and trust and respect between them is my happy place, and if you want to go romantic with this, yes, absolutely, but there's no need to if you enjoy the platonic aspect of their relationship, I'd just like anything focusing on them, though if you want to feature the absolute nonsense that is their found/grudgingly extended family, I'd welcome it as well.

Maybe some pre- or post-canon job shenanigans. Maybe they kind of got married at some point on some planet for some reason and it comes up again. Maybe some friends to lovers/mutual pining. Maybe an alternate take on the post-S4 fallout. The world is your oyster!

TIAN GUAN CI FU (also known as HEAVEN'S BLESSING); quan yizhen, yin yu

I fell into chinese novels through the MDZS donghua, uh, about a year ago now and I still haven't crawled my way out. I've read the whole book thanks to suika's translation, and I'm assuming if you've offered these characters, you have as well? Otherwise, spoilers ahead.

I absolutely loved these two and their dynamic. I don't think I can speak coherently about Yin Yu's last scene. I just went to reread it while writing this and I'm just as overwhelmed as before. So he's petty and jealous, so what? So he resents and hates Yizhen, so what? He wanted to be kind if he couldn't be powerful but he couldn't be that either. God!! I just, have a lot of emotions.

I'd just love anything exploring their relationship, Yin Yu's pride and resentment and Quan Yizhen's absolute worship of him, how despite everything Yin Yu liked him, when they were just two disciples of the same sect, liked taking care of him, liked that Quan Yizhen only cared for him, up until his inferioriy complex soured even that. It doesn't need to be romantic if you're not into that, but if you are, yes please.

I'd be happy with any canon or canon divergent setting, be it back before Yin Yu fell, or while he was running away from Quan Yizhen (feel free to lean into the comical aspect of it if you want), or some post-canon fix-it. Maybe they get magically stuck or stranded together at some point and are forced to deal with each other. Maybe their relationship wasn't quite entirely platonic during or pre-canon. Maybe uh, fixing the post-canon situation involves some marriage ritual or dual cultivation, I'm ready to blame Airplane-bro for it if you are.

Most of all I just want them to be happy, or to be consciously working towards happiness.

i really liked the concept of the show, but most of all QUELL. QUELL QUELL QUELL. i need so much more about her. the revolutionary leader of my heart and soul. quell who gave all of herself to her war, quell who—/nadia/ who wanted so badly to see the stars and let the corruption in, created the stacks and doomed them, who will do anything to atone.
and tak the bereaved soldier who wakes up in a world where his war and his love and idol and general have been lost for two hundred and fifty years and who still can’t move on; tak who doesn’t care about anything anymore except he does, he really does. and rei who wanted to live, who wanted tak to live, and who drenched herself in blood to survive and tried to cut weakness out of her, who missed tak like a limb for two hundred and fifty years and didn’t feel whole until he was with her again.
there's just this amount of complete and utter devotion in those three—tak and rei to each other, tak to quell, quell to her cause—and it is. so much. give me everything about that tbh.
i'd love any combination of quell/tak/rei, romantic or not. tak who wanted so badly to believe in something, and for someone to believe in, and quell who was alone in her fight for so long, and they found each other and gave each other exactly what they needed; and made a love that would transcend even death.
tak and rei who put loyalty to each other above everything else, who always came back for each other, tak who loved rei so much and wanted so badly to save her until the end, and rei who loved him obsessively, rei who was corrupted beyond saving and who would have done and did anything to get him back.
even quell/rei has so much potential! because rei learned from and must have admired quell, and quell must have believed in rei and trusted her; and rei betrayed her and her cause completely and yet still saved her, kept her stack all this time and why?
in short anything that dives into these dynamics is already perfect to me. set pretty much at any point you want in canon—if you’ve got anything in mind definitely just go for it and have fun.
otherwise a few leads if you need them: pre-canon fic, post-season fic where tak finds quell, future fic where the two (three?) of them are reunited and quell is leading another uprising. tak alone and grieving and looking for quell and all the ghost apparitions and dream sequences your heart might want.
canon divergence is also fine with me: what if rei had been caught before she could betray the uprising. what if rei hadn’t died at the end of the season (or has she?)? what if rei had met quell alone first, or earlier?

POWERLESS; emily locke, jackie

i loved the concept of the show and i enjoyed their dynamic /so much/. the emotionally distant apathetic cynic being reluctantly won over by the bubbly overenthusiastic idealist!
i'd love something where emily determinedly keeps up her campaign of winning jackie's friendship and jackie realizes she's falling in love with her—really, anything (platonic or romantic) that involves jackie being prickly and only showing affection covertly while emily sees right through her would be wonderful.
or something involving jackie's new powers. does some supervillain eventually kidnap emily to try and make jackie do something for them? or some canon divergence where jackie already had her powers when they met and had sort of ended up being a vigilante and there are some identity issues shenanigans?
or any of the usual tropes! fake dating! jackie got dosed with truth serum and she can't help but say nice things and is very annoyed about it! jackie's ex is fighting for custody and she'd have a better chance if she was in a committed relationship, guess who volunteers to marry her! inconvenient bed-sharing!
in lieu of or in addition to, i’d love anything playing with the potential of the show, with superheroes and supervillains and supercatastrophes in the background while these regular people are trying to live their regular lives.*

I love both these ships, but not simultaneously? This is very much an either-or situation for me; and I very much want to avoid unrequited love situations, so I'd much rather that if you picked Amy/Raquel, Amy's relationship with Susanne were completely platonic, and vice-versa.
That being said, go wild! I absolutely loved the zany spirit of the show, so anything playing off that would be great, but I'd also welcome a more serious approach to these characters, the trauma and issues they might bring into a relationship. Or both. Both is also good.

Also, I was looking over my requested ships to see if there might be any exception to my no-complete-AUs preference, and I got to thinking about the Dark Days Club books (no prior knowledge required), and actually demon-slaying in Regency England might be a fun AU for these characters if canon doesn't particularly inspire you.

KILLING EVE; eve/villanelle

I fell for this show and this ship so hard. It just fits so many of the things I love in fiction. Mutual obsession! I love Villanelle and her amorality and her careless arrogance and her childishness and her occasional softness with Eve, but I'd particularly like something Eve-centric here.
I love her stubbornness, her drive, her humour, her awkwardness, I love her genuine and disturbing admiration for Villanelle and female killers. I love the side of her that cares more about the chase than about the law or even right and wrong. I love that she 'likes [Villanelle] too much.' I loved her whole speech before she stabs Villanelle so much. (Mutual obssession!!) I love that she actually stabbed Villanelle. I love that she freaked out right after and tried to help her.

Basically I love everything about them and this ship so the world's your oyster? I'd love anything post-s1, Eve and Villanelle resuming their game of cat-and-mouse, and the fallout of Eve stabbing Villanelle. I'd love some nebulously set in the future fic where Eve and Villanelle are on the run together, whether by choice or maybe forced together by circumstances and chased by the Twelves? Waller-Bridge described their meeting as love at first sight and I'd love anything exploring that or—I cannot stress it enough—their mutual obsession.

Or some canon divergence scenarios that might be interesting: what if, when Villanelle had Konstantin's daughter hostage and Eve begged her to just come with her, Villanelle had? What would have happened then? Did Eve actually want them to go away together? Would Eve still have tried to kill her eventually?
Or perhaps an alternate canon where Villanelle never killed Bill, and so it never became at least partly about revenge for Eve, how would that have affected their game?

THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL; midge/susie

I want to see them fall in love so bad! I mean they're pretty much already there but still!

I'm pretty much looking for little-to-no-angst friends to lovers fic here, though if, idk, you particularly want to tackle what having a sexuality crisis might realistically feel like for a Jewish former-housewife with children who's starting up in the comedy scene in 1950s New York, you absolutely should.

Maybe something in the near future when Midge is still struggling to make it in stand-up comedy, or something after they get successful, or even some pre-canon divergence where they met and fell in love before Midge ever met Joel. Maybe something tropey where they suddenly end up living together, or maybe one day Midge's parents tell her out of the blue they've decided to make their peace with her lesbian relationship and she should invite Susie to dinner, and Susie ends up getting a phonecall about how could she maybe come to dinner and also pretend to be her girlfriend?

POWERLESS; emily/jackie

I feel like I'd been waiting for this show all my life and then it got cancelled after a season and I will be bitter forever. And I got so into Emily/Jackie and I will be doubly bitter forever. And there is no fic for them whatsoever and I will be triply—

DNWs: Please no magical cure particularly for Rebecca's problems. Obviously I'd like the story end with her in a good place, but more in a way where she decides to work on herself and on being happy rather than all her problems disappearing when she's in a happy relationship.
Regarding Josh, whether you choose to include him in the fic or not, I'd rather there were no character-bashing.

FAKING IT; Amy Raudenfeld/Karma Ashcroft

I absolutely loved the premise of the show and Amy and Karma are the fake dating best friends in love of my heart.
I would rather stay as angst-free as possible for the two of them, and preferably either during canon or the very near future, rather than something a long time from where the show left off.
Maybe something Karma-centric ft oblivious Karma slowly realizing she’s been in love with Amy all along. Can also involve: jealous Karma, more fake dating, some purposeful or accidental wooing.
I'd also love something that highlights their codependency, or something light-hearted where they’re already dating and either hiding it because they don’t want to deal with the drama, or struggling to come out as a couple because no one believes them

DNWs: I'd rather they weren't romantically or sexually involved with anyone else within the story, especially Liam, though I don't otherwise mind if he's around.

ONCE UPON A TIME; Emma Swan/Regina Mills

The development of their relationship is so interesting, I'd be happy with whenever you want to start the story, whether it's when they still hate each other or when they trust each other completely or anytime in between.
I’d be very into some hate-to-love s1 setting pre-reveal, or even in an alternate universe where there is no magic or fairytale land, but I’d also love for the story to start when their relationship is already a bit more cordial and the co-parenting more settled—again you can go tropey (accidental baby acquisition! everyone thinks they’re dating! accidental relationship! parent trap! accidental magical bonding!)

DNWs: I stopped watching around early s5, so preferably nothing based on canon beyond that. Please no Hook or Robin. I don’t mind them existing in the background if you want them there, but I’d prefer them not to be in any way romantically connected to Emma and Regina. (I do mind Rumpelstiltskin existing a bit.)
Regarding Regina's past, I don’t mind if you want to address it but I’d rather she wasn’t either too villainized for or too absolved of everything she's done. I live in the happy middle where some really bad things have happened to her, but it doesn't make up for the bad things she's made happen to other people? Whether she feels remorse or not is up to you, I'm totally fine with her being unapologetically unrepentant if that's the direction you want to go in.
Regarding Henry, I don't mind if he doesn't feature heavily in the story if he doesn't particularly interest you (though I'd appreciate no character-bashing). Depending on when/in what context you want to set the story, Henry and Regina might have a strained relationship, but I’d rather it be clear that they do love each other deeply.
I don't know how you feel about the Charmings, I don't mind them not being included if you don't like them but again I'd prefer no character-bashing. Charming family feelings are always welcome if you do want to include them.
(I'm totally fine with Rumpelstiltskin-bashing, though.)

PERSON OF INTEREST; Root | Samantha Groves/Samen Shaw

Fix-it fix-it fix-it. Root dying was faked or part of a simulation or just didn’t happen altogether, you can totally ignore it and set the story post-canon without addressing it at all if you want.
I’d love something quiet and happy where they and especially Shaw recover from everything and it can get hard sometimes but they have each other and they’ll make it. Or maybe some canon divergence where Shaw was never taken and Root has set out to woo her by probably unorthodox and possibly disturbing but strangely effective methods (and then they both live happily ever after), or they’re doing an undercover marrieds stint (and then they live happily ever after), or even something relatively early in their relationship where Shaw still kinda wants to kill her but they have to team up for some reason and then feelings happen (and then they live happily ever after).

DNWs: An unhappy ending and/or a Root-lives-on-through-the-Machine-even-though-she's-really-dead ending. I'd rather the darker sides of their respective personalities weren't glossed over entirely, but I don't need them to be a focus either.
